WARNING FOR WINDHAM SOUTHEAST SCHOOL DISTRICT MEETING The legal voters of the Windham Southeast School District, including the towns of Brattleboro, Dummerston, Guilford, and Putney are hereby notified and warned to meet as follows. Polls will be open in Brattleboro at the American Legion, 32 Linden Street, Brattleboro, Vermont 05301 (between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.); in Dummerston on the lower level of the Dummerston Congregational Church, 1535 Middle Road, Dummerston, Vermont 05346 (between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.); in Guilford at the Broad Brook Community Center, 3940 Guilford Center Road, Guilford, Vermont 05301 (between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.); and Putney at the Putney Fire Station, 21 Carl Snyder Drive, Putney, VT 05346 (between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.) on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 to vote by Australian ballot on the following articles. Article 1. To elect four (4) school directors from the nominees to serve on the school board of the Windham Southeast School District from the date of the election: Two (2) school directors who are residents of Brattleboro for a three- year term. Two (2) school directors (one from each town) who are residents of Guilford and Putney for a three-year term. Article 2. To elect the following officers of the district, which officers shall assume office upon election and serve for a term of one year. Moderator Clerk Treasurer Article 3. Shall the voters of the school district authorize compensation in the total amount of $42,000 to the district board, which is the amount of $4,000 for each director, and that the chair shall receive an additional $2,000? Article 4. Shall the voters of the school district authorize the school board to expend $52,103,190, which is the amount the school board has determined to be necessary for the ensuing fiscal year? It is estimated that this proposed budget, if approved, will result in education spending of $19,432 per equalized pupil. This projected spending per equalized pupil is 2.6% higher than spending for the current year. Article 5. Shall the voters of the school district authorize the formation of an independent advisory Budget Review Committee to review and prepare a report to the community on our annual budget, with the Committee to consist of one volunteer from each town, to be appointed by the WSESD Board for the upcoming year and to be elected from the floor at the annual meeting in subsequent years? The legal voters of the Windham Southeast School District, including the towns of Brattleboro, Dummerston, Guilford, and Putney are further notified that voter qualification, registration, absentee voting and voting procedures relative to said special meeting shall be as provided in Chapters 43, 51, and 55 of Title 17, Vermont Statutes Annotated.
